Spotlight on Reports
It's time to set goals for your Agents in 2008! Where do you begin? Setting goals for your Agents in the upcoming year will be critical for your office's productivity and profitability. If you've only begun using the Realty Management System, or you are a seasoned user here are some tips to get your Agent's budgets set up. It's easier than you think!

To begin, run the Agent Production report (8.5.P). This report will show you what an agent has in available listings, new written, pending and closed production and will give you a good starting point. Along with the production report, run the Commission Cutting report (2.P.5.6) for your individual agents. Under the "lost commission" field enter the Commission percentage (e.g. 2.5%) that you expect your agent to bring in on a deal. This information can be informative, and sometimes eye opening. You are now better prepared to sit down with your Agent, to set some goals and objectives.

The final step is to go into the Agent Budgeting option (8.B.1) and document the 2008 goal that you and/or your agent have created. Each agent's budget consists of an average sell price, an average commission rate and twelve monthly end count totals. You can also use the last year's actual figures as a base to create future projected budget figures. Be sure to print the Budget and have the Agent sign the plan.

You'll find this creates a great retention tool and further develops your Agent's skills and motivation.
