How to Manage the Slow Season

With the holiday season upon us, you may be eager to celebrate and spend time with family and friends. But this wonderful time of year also signals the approaching slow season. I have heard many people say how real estate is seasonal and brokerages find it challenging to sustain during these months. We all know we can’t control the market but that doesn’t mean that we can’t be productive. Here are 4 things to do during the slow season:

1. Upgrade your brokerage

It’s time to upgrade all your marketing material. Don’t use the same materials year after year. Upgrade your brokerage and your agents with fresh marketing materials every few months. Take this down time as the perfect opportunity to review and make updates when needed!

2. Expand your database

You may not be closing as many deals at this time of the year but you can still work on building your pipeline. Use this time to prepare yourself to take giant strides during the peak time. Start networking and collecting your future clients.

3. Be Social

This is the time to be proactive and be out there on social media. It can be as simple as DIY or home improvement articles or a piece that shares your expertise in the real estate industry, go ahead and write that blog post and share it on your social media sites. This helps in keeping you top of mind.

4. Nurture

You have closed many deals and also have hot leads in your data base, this season can be a great time to nurture them. Stay in touch through emails and phone calls. You could also come up with an offer to generate interest, the possibilities are endless. Here is a quick guide on how to nurture leads.

Take this opportunity to take a few steps back and then a giant leap forward with proper planning and strategic moves. Here’s wishing you happy holidays and successful year ahead!
